PREVIEWS

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST (2.30 pm)

Two truly in-form teams clash at the top of the Ardal North West this Saturday when fourth-place Holyhead Hotspur host new leaders Flint Mountain.

Hotspur are on a run of seven straight league wins and are unbeaten in 15 matches in all competitions, while in the past five days Mountain have reached the NEWFA Challenge Cup final and hit the ANW summit with a 5-1 success at Conwy Borough.

Having scored in each of his last nine matches, Dylan Summers-Jones will be a danger for the home side, while the visitors carry threats all over the pitch.

With them being at home, and Flint having had a testing week, we go with Hotspur to edge it, but it will be close.

Having lost top spot for the first time since October in midweek, Rhyl 1879 might briefly return there with a victory at Conwy Borough.

Although Boro can upset the apple cart on their best days, they are not flowing at present, and with the Lilywhites desperate to end the season in winning form to maximise their chances of a top-two finish, expect Gareth Thomas’ side to pick up the points at Y Morfa.

Resurgent Feiinheli will be all out for another victory to boost their survival quest when they host the flying Llay Welfare, who still have strong title ambitions. Away win is the call, but it should be very tight.

Elsewhere, we forecast wins for Llangefni Town, Llannefydd and Bethesda Athletic, while St Asaph manager Barry Owen’s nostalgic return to Llanrwst could end honours even.

SCORECASTS

Conwy Borough 1 CPD Y Rhyl 1879 3

CPD Y Felinheli 2 Llay Welfare 3

Holyhead Hotspur 1 Flint Mountain 0

Llangefni Town 2 Hawarden Rangers 0

CPD Llannefydd 3 Brickfield Rangers 1

Llanrwst United 1 St Asaph City 1

Saltney Town 0 Bethesda Athletic 3

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST

The leading pair will meet at Cae Baker as top side Penrhyncoch entertain second-place Llanuwchllyn.

To stand any chance of stealing the title, Llan will have to win this one, as they currently trail Penrhyn by 11 points but with three games in hand.

After their heartbreaking FAW Trophy final defeat last weekend, the Roosters bounced back brilliantly with a 4-1 midweek whipping of Llandrindod Wells.

We forecast a draw against Llanuwchllyn.

Bow Street in third should have the edge over fourth-placed Radnor Valley, while vibrant Dolgellau can see off much-improved Llangollen at Cae Marian.

Cefn Albion should squeeze out a narrow verdict at Llandrindod, Builth Wells can get the better of Llanfair United following a magical 4-0 Wednesday win at Radnor and Rhos Aelwyd are a decent bet for three points at Llanrhaeadr.

SCORECASTS

Bow Street 3 Radnor Valley 0

Dolgellau AA 3 Llangollen Town 1

Llandrindod Wells 1 Cefn Albion 2

Llanfair United 0 Builth Wells 3

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 0 Rhos Aelwyd 2

Penrhyncoch 2 Llanuwchllyn 2

JD CYMRU NORTH

Just one game in the Cymru North this weekend with already safe Buckley hosting relegated Chirk AAA.

The Colliers have been showing much improvement since their fate was sealed, while Bucks can be unpredictable. With nothing on the game it could be a flowing affair and we go for a draw,

SCORECAST

Buckley Town 2 Chirk AAA 2
