PREVIEWS JD CYMRU NORTH

Holywell Town will hit top spot in the Cymru North on Friday night if they can pick up a victory at Ruthin Town.

The Wellmen edged a 1-0 win over Ruthin just before Christmas and are well capable of making it a double, although Philly Hudson’s side are always a tricky opponent.

After last weekend’s narrow 5-4 loss at Ruthin, Llandudno can rediscover winning ways at home to Buckley Town, who themselves will be aiming to bounce back after their recent Welsh Cup exit at the hands of Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Prestatyn Town won 3-0 at Chirk AAA last Saturday and can repeat the dose at Bastion Gardens.

What a cracker in store on Saturday, when leaders Airbus UK travel to in-form Mold Alexandra.

This pair shared a tremendous battle in December which saw the Wingmakers triumph 5-3.

Mold have won seven of their last eight league fixtures and could yet emerge as late title contenders.

Denbigh Town versus Guilsfield could feature a few goals; we take the home side to edge it. while Caersws against Gresford Athletic also has the makings of a close one.

Flint Town United lost at Holywell last time out in the league and need a positive response at home to Bangor 1876, who have been in fine fettle of late.

Porthmadog at last bagged that elusive win last weekend – their first in 10 after nine straight losses. Stephen Williams’ side can claim a point at least at fellow bottom three outfit Llanidloes Town.

SCORECASTS

Llandudno 3 Buckley Town 2
Prestatyn Town 3 Chirk AAA 1
Ruthin Town 1 Holywell Town 2

Caersws 2 Gresford Athletic 1
Denbigh Town 3 Guilsfield 2
Flint Town United 1 Bangor 1876 0
Llanidloes Town 1 Porthmadog 1
Mold Alexandra 2 Airbus UK 2

ARDAL NORTH EAST

While Cefn Albion versus Welshpool Town looks at first glance like a home banker, the Powys basement boys have been much improved of late, while the Wrexham hosts have struggled for consistency.

Nonetheless, a home victory looks the best call.

Game of the day has to be the tussle between second and first as Radnor Valley entertain table-toppers Penrhyncoch.

After a sticky spell, Radnor have won three on the bounce and they might just have what it takes to give the Roosters’ title aspirations a little knock.

Dolgellau Athletic are a great shout to take three points over next-to-bottom visitors Llanrhaeadr, while a Bow Street side in ruthless mode of late can emerge victorious at Llangollen.

After last weekend’s FAW Trophy disappointment, Llanuwchllyn might have to settle for a point at home to Builth Wells, Penycae might struggle to get anything against visitors Llandrindod Wells and Rhos Aelwyd should have enough to see off Llanfair United at Ponciau Park.SCORECASTS

Cefn Albion 2 Welshpool Town 0
Dolgellau Athletic 3 Llanrhaeadr 0
Llangollen Town 1 Bow Street 3
Llanuwchllyn 1 Builth Wells 1
Penycae 0 Llandrindod Wells 3
Radnor Valley 2 Penrhyncoch 1
Rhos Aelwyd 1 Llanfair United 0

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Second takes on first as St Asaph City welcome shellshocked CPD Y Rhyl 1879 on Saturday.

Few would have foreseen the Lilywhites getting thumped 4-1 at home by Llangefni Town last weekend, but that result has made it crucial for Gareth Thomas’ side to pick up something at Roe Plas Meadows.

Saints have had a great first season back in Tier 3 and can take a point at least off the Lilies.

Third-place Nantlle Vale can capitalise on potential dropped points by the top two with a victory at Y Felinheli, coming off a 6-1 drubbing at Llay.

Conwy Borough can make it a quick double over Hawarden Rangers, where they won 1-0 last weekend, and Llangefni Town will surely have the momentum going into their home clash with Brickfield Rangers, who themselves recorded an eye-catching result last time out when defeating an in-form Pwllheli.

Llannefydd’s FAW trophy exit at Newport City will make them determined to bounce back against the strong Flint Mountain, but this one has an away win bet looking inviting.

Pwllheli lost for the first time in a while last Saturday. Can they turn the tables at home to Llay Welfare? Could be tricky.

Bethesda Athletic have been playing well without getting the results, but that can change in their favour at Saltney Town.

Holyhead Hotspur have the tools to get at least a draw at Llanrwst United.

SCORECASTS

Conwy Borough 2 Hawarden Rangers 0
Llangefni Town 2 Brickfield Rangers 2
Llannefydd 1 Flint Mountain 3
Llanrwst United 0 Holyhead Hotspur 2
Pwllheli 2 Llay Welfare 3
Saltney Town 1 Bethesda Athletic 2
St Asaph City 1 CPD Rhyl 1879 1
Y Felinheli 1 Nantlle Vale 4
