PREVIEWS JD CYMRU NORTH

After a couple of gallant but disappointing home defeats recently to Flint and Airbus, Bangor 1876 will aim to get back on the right track when Buckley Town visit Nantporth Stadium on Friday night.

Michael Johnston’s side have surprisingly slipped into the bottom five with Bucks just a place below. Expect 1876 to come back strongly on Friday.

Gresford Athletic are another team whose results have taken a slump of late.

At one stage on an eight-match winning run, Eddie Maurice-Jones’ side have not won in four, losing in the Nathaniel MG Cup and Welsh Cup respectively to The New Saints and Caerau Ely, and in the league going down at home to Denbigh Town and only drawing with basement team Chirk.

On Friday, the Colliers welcome a Mold Alexandra side sitting fourth but coming off the back of a league defeat at Denbigh Town and a narrow Welsh Cup  loss away to Cymru Premier Cardiff Met. No shame whatsoever in either of those results.

Mold are definitely in good enough form to pick up something at The Rock.

Resurgent Llandudno will be determined to mark their return to the OPS Wind Arena after an absence of more than a year with a win over Ruthin Town.

Tudno have won two on the bounce and lifted themselves out of the bottom two. They are a good bet for at least a point at home to erratic Ruthin, without a win in five.

Fifth-place Denbigh Town visit a Prestatyn Town outfit they are yet to face this season. On the form guide, this should be an away win.

Saturday sees second-place Airbus travel to bottom side Chirk AAA as strong favourites, while Flint Town United, in third and still unbeaten, look a home banker against Llanidloes Town.

It will be tougher for leaders Holywell Town at home to Guilsfield, a team capable of upsetting anyone, while a draw looks a sound call when Porthmadog host Caersws.

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST

Three absolute crackers in store in Ardal North East on Saturday.

Not many would fancy playing in-form Dolgellau at present, and they can make life very difficult for leaders Penrhyncoch at Cae Marian.

Fourth-place Llansantffraid Village, without a league win in three attempts, will be desperate to bounce back after last weekend’s home loss to Dolgellau when the Saints host Radnor Valley, up to second after inflicting a first league loss of the season on Bow Street last time out.

Could be Radnor’s day again.

Meanwhile, two teams without a win all season square up at The Riverside when Penycae host Welshpool Town.

Could be a few goals in this battle of the bottom two.

SCORECASTS

Dolgellau AA 2 Penrhyncoch 2

Llansantffraid Village 1 Radnor Valley 2

Penycae 3 Welshpool Town 2

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST

Definitely a big test in store for leaders Rhyl 1879 when they visit Brickfield on Saturday.

Gareth Wilson’s Rangers are up to fifth after fantastic back-to-back league wins over Llanrwst United and Pwllheli – and the Wrexham side are undefeated in five.

Top by a five-point margin, Rhyl are unbeaten in eight league outings, but needed a last-gasp leveller to draw at home to Saltney last weekend.

Still without a win in 10 league starts, bottom side Hawarden Rangers visit Llannefydd, but the Flintshire lads are not without a hope in this one and could snatch a point.

Saltney produced a great performance at Rhyl last weekend in a 2-2 draw and a repeat of that showing could bring more reward at Pwllheli.

St Asaph City continue to quietly but efficiently push themselves into the league title picture and they have a more than decent chance of maximum spoils at home to Llangefni.

SCORECASTS

Brickfield Rangers 3 CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2

CPD Llannefydd 1 Hawarden Rangers 1

CPD Pwllheli 2 Saltney Town 2

St Asaph City 2 Llangefni Town 1

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTHERN LEAGUE CUP

The last 16 of the Ardal Northern League Cup throws up some tremendous ties on Saturday.

Holyhead Hotspur beat Conwy Borough 2-0 at home in a league encounter last weekend and can succeed by the same margin at the same venue in a straight knockout clash.

Bow Street will be disappointed to have lost their unbeaten league record last weekend but are good enough to turn their fortunes with a narrow victory at Llandrindod.

Cefn Albion return to Llanrhaeadr seven days after a nightmare 4-1 league defeat which resulted in manager Neil Ashton leaving the club.

The odds are against Albion in the cup on Saturday, but I see them reversing last weekend’s results with a wholehearted performance.

Llanrwst United beat Flint Mountain 3-2 at home in the league in September, but new Rwsters manager Matt Sampson may have to wait a little longer for his first win with Aden Shannon’s Warriors in great form and in the mood for more success after reaching the last 16 of the Welsh Cup.

Llanuwchllyn, unfortunate losers in the Welsh Cup last Saturday, can get back in credit with a home triumph over Builth Wells and Llay Welfare are in good enough nick to knock out Bethesda Athletic at The Ring.

Rhos Aelwyd are on a miserable run, but so often they have proved to be a fine cup side and should just get past the challenge of Llangollen.

Great local derby in store at Cae Seilo, where Felinheli entertain Nantlle Vale. This one should be tight, but we take Vale to have the edge.

SCORECASTS

Holyhead Hotspur 3 Conwy Borough 1

Llandrindod Wells 0 Bow Street 1

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 2 Cefn Albion 3

Llanrwst United 1 Flint Mountain 2

Llanuwchllyn 3 Builth Wells 1

Llay Welfare 2 Bethesda Athletic 0

CPD Rhos Aelwyd 2 Llangollen Town 1
