CYMRU NORTH

With the title won, the main focus on the final weekend of Cymru North league matches will be relegation and the one place to be decided.

Fourth-from-bottom Chirk AAA will stay up if they get a draw or better at home to Buckley Town.

The only team which can finish above the Colliers is Conwy Borough, who have to win at Ruthin Town and then hope Chirk lose to avoid finishing in the relegation bottom three.

Chirk lost 1-0 at Bucks on the opening night of the season and AAA’s home form has not been great. After going unbeaten in their first five at Holyhead Road, they have won just one in nine on their own turf since.

However, with what’s at stake, they must be fancied to get the result which will ensure they stay up whatever Conwy do. Chirk’s goal difference is 10 better than Boro.

Conwy will put up a good fight at fifth-place Ruthin, but Town should edge it.

Elsewhere, there will be a party atmosphere when champions Colwyn Bay entertain local rivals Llandudno at the Four Crosses Construction Arena.

Tudno ended Holywell’s longshot title hopes by scuppering the home team’s 25-match winning run last weekend with a 2-1 victory at the Achieve More Training Stadium.

However, Sean Eardley’s side faltered in midweek with a 2-2 ‘home’ draw against relegated Penrhyncoch, but the Seasiders are one of only two teams this season to take anything off the Seagulls when they drew 2-2 with Bay on the opening night.

With all the pressure off them and a massive home crowd assured, Steve Evans’ title-winners should end on a victorious note.

Prestatyn Town should clinch sixth place with a win over Cefn Druids at Bastion Gardens, Penrhyncoch look good for another consolation point at Gresford Athletic, runners-up Holywell Town can triumph at relegated Holyhead Hotspur, Guilsfield can continue their storming climax with a positive result at Mold Alexandra and Porthmadog should pip Llanidloes Town in a tussle of safe clubs at Y Traeth.

SCORECASTS

Chirk AAA 2 Buckley Town 1
Colwyn Bay 3 Llandudno 1
Gresford Athletic 1 Penrhyncoch 1
Holyhead Hotspur 1 Holywell Town 4
Mold Alexandra 0 Guilsfield 2
Porthmadog 2 Llanidloes Town 1
Prestatyn Town 3 Cefn Druids 0
Ruthin Town 3 Conwy Borough 2

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Cefn Albion can cut the gap on leaders Caersws to three points if they win at Llanuwchllyn.

While this looks like a potentially tricky one for the Cefners, Llan were disappointing in losing 4-1 at home to Caersws last Saturday.

Albion also slipped up with a 2-2 home draw against Penycae in midweek, so improvement is vital for both sides if they are to get they outcome they desire.

Llandrindod Wells should bounce back from last weekend’s stunning 4-1 home loss to Corwen and get the better of visitors Dolgellau.

Corwen will have been lifted by that scoreline at Wells and might just be good enough to grab a point at Llanfair United.

Penycae can build on their fine result at Albion by taking three points at Llanrhaeadr, expect Rhos Aelwyd to finish on top at Rhayader and a draw looks a good call when Welshpool entertain Builth Wells.

SCORECASTS

Llandrindod Wells 3 Dolgellau Athletic 1
Llanfair United 1 Corwen 1
Llanrhaeadr 0 Penycae 3
Llanuwchllyn 1 Cefn Albion 3
Rhayader Town 0 Rhos Aelwyd 2
Welshpool Town 2 Builth Wells 2

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Match of the day anywhere in North Wales is Saturday’s top of the table clash between leaders CPD Y Rhyl 1879 and third-place Denbigh Town, who are on a 17-match winning streak.

Denbigh are seven points behind Rhyl but have four games in hand.

Table-toppers 1879 desperately need to bounce back following last Saturday’s loss to title rivals Bangor 1876. which ended a run of nine straight league wins for the Lilywhites.

In their previous meeting back in November, Denbigh beat Rhyl 2-1 at Central Park.

Saturday’s game is a massive six-pointer.

Bangor 1876 can keep their title bid on the boil with three points against Llandudno Albion, Brickfield Rangers v Nantlle Vale is hard to predict and could finish up a draw, while there is no reason why revived Rhostyllen cannot defeat Llay Welfare on present form.

Saltney Town can successfully recover from their Ardal North League Cup expulsion disappointment with a home success against Llanrwst, and Hawarden Rangers have a decent chance of some reward at Y Felinheli.

In the Ardal League North Cup, Llangefni only reached the semi-final due to a rule transgression by Saltney Town, who had won the tie 3-1.

Cefni have a fair chance of getting past far-travelling Bow Street, but the visitors are on a fine run and can return home having sealed a meeting with Denbigh Town in the final.

SCORECASTS

Brickfield Rangers 2 Nantlle Vale 2

Llandudno Albion 0 Bangor 1876 4
Rhostyllen 2 Llay Welfare 1
CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 Denbigh Town 1
Saltney Town 3 Llanrwst United 0
Y Felinheli 1 Hawarden Rangers 1
