PREVIEWS

JD CYMRU NORTH

There are a few quick rematches on the Cymru North roster this weekend, so one wonders how recent clashes will affect those in combat.

Denbigh Town are flying at present and having won 3-0 at Prestatyn Town a fortnight ago, the return at Central Park on Friday night should go the same way.

Leaders Holywell Town will be glad to get back on the pitch after three weeks without a league game.

Johnny Haseldin’s side travel to tricky Guilsfield on Friday. Expect a tight one, but the Wellmen should narrowly prevail.

Llandudno enjoyed a memorable 2-1 victory over Ruthin Town two weeks ago on their return to the OPS Wind Arena after a 14-month absence.

On Friday, the Seasiders visit Ruthin, who are without a win in seven.

The last meeting was decided by a very late goal and the return should see this pair hard to separate again. We veer towards a draw.

Saturday sees Airbus entertain a Chirk side they whipped 5-0 at Holyhead Road on November 18.

The Wingmakers are level on points with table-toppers Holywell and an equally comfortable win over the Colliers looks a good bet.

Bangor 1876 celebrated their 100th win as a club when they beat Buckley 3-0 at Nantporth two weekends back.

Can they make it 101 wins in the rematch at The Globe? Buckley have enjoyed some decent results on the road lately, but have not claimed a home victory in six attempts.

Could be a thriller this one, with Bangor’s superior goal power just edging it.

Caersws drew 1-1 at Porthmadog on November 18 and a similar outcome is on the cards in Powys.

Although they lost at home to Denbigh in the WBS League Cup last weekend, Flint should be back on song at lowly Llanidloes.

Will the game feature 13 goals though, as it did when the Silkmen flattened the Daffs 9-4 at the Essity two weeks ago? Unlikely, but still expect a few net-busters, most of them for the away high-flyers.

On their recent visit to Gresford Athletic, Mold Alexandra were resounding 5-1 winners.

With the likes of top-scorer Jake Roberts in deadly form, the Alex should dish out another caning at Alyn Park against the out-of-sorts Wrexham outfit.

SCORECASTS

Denbigh Town 4 Prestatyn Town 1

Guilsfield 1 Holywell Town 2

Ruthin Town 1 Llandudno 1

Airbus UK Broughton 4 Chirk AAA 0

Buckley Town 2 Bangor 1876 3

Caersws 2 Porthmadog 2

Llanidloes Town 0 Flint Town United 3

Mold Alexandra 3 Gresford Athletic 0

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST

New boys Radnor Valley are showing the way at the Ardal North East summit.

Can the Presteigne pace-setters continue to confound the critics with a win at expected title contenders Cefn Albion on Saturday?

Having suffered back-to-back defeats in league and cup to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Cefn badly need to stop the rot versus the New Radnor men.

It should be a better day for Albion, but they might have to settle for a point.

Dolgellau can overpower an out-of-touch Rhos Aelwyd at Cae Marian and Llanfair United should do the same when basement boys Welshpool visit Mount Field.

Llanuwchllyn are in awesome nick right now, their fine form expected to serve them well at Llangollen this Saturday.

Boosted by those successive wins over Cefn Albion, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant are capable of putting a spoke in Penrhyncoch’s title wheel by taking a point off the Roosters.

While Llansantffraid Village are a place above Bow Street in the table, the Magpies might just have what it takes to shade a competitive contest at the home of the Saints.

Penycae look to have turned the tables  with two home wins on the bounce. Can they make it three in a row when Builth Wells visit The Riverside? Not in our opinion. Away win.

SCORECASTS

Cefn Albion 1 Radnor Valley 1

Dolgellau 3 CPD Rhos Aelwyd 1

Llanfair United 4 Welshpool Town 1

Llangollen Town 1 Llanuwchllyn 3

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 2 Penrhyncoch 2

Llansantffraid Village 1 Bow Street 2

Penycae 1 Builth Wells 3

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have a seven-point lead at the pinnacle and will aim to extend that gap with a home win over Brickfield Rangers on Saturday.

Gareth Thomas’ Lilywhites squeezed out a 1-0 verdict at Bricky two weeks ago. The Wrexham side are tricky and determined opponents and it could be close again.

On current stats, however, having gone eight matches undefeated (seven wins), 1879 should just snatch it.

Second-place Llangefni Town have been going really well. Although they lost at Bow Street last weekend in the FAW Trophy, it was only on penalties, and the Anglesey side have a good chance of victory at ever-dangerous Llannefydd on Saturday.

Llanrwst United badly need a boost after a calamitous 6-0 home loss to Llanuwchllyn in the Trophy last weekend.

Still searching for a first win under new manager Matt Sampson, can they get it at Pwllheli?

The Rwsters should at least rustle up a draw against a home side not in the best of form.

Nantlle Vale can expect a hard test at much-improved Saltney Town, but the Penygroes crew seem a good shout for three points and the same is true for Holyhead Hotspur at bottom place and still winless Hawarden Rangers.

Flint Mountain are excelling in the cups, but could do with a league win or two to remain among the leading pack. They have a more than fair chance to take the honours at Conwy Borough, a steady outfit who have not really pulled up any trees so far.

St Asaph City should bounce back from their recent home loss to Llangefni Town by getting past the steely challenge of Llay Welfare at Roe Plas Meadows.

Bottom three pair CPD Y Felinheli and Bethesda Athletic both need points. They meet at Cae Seilo on Saturday and a draw would be no surprise.

SCORECASTS

Conwy Borough 1 Flint Mountain 2

Hawarden Rangers 2 Holyhead Hotspur 3

CPD Llannefydd 0 Llangefni Town 2

CPD Pwllheli 1 Llanrwst United 1

Saltney Town 1 Nantlle Vale 2

St Asaph City 2 Llay Welfare 1

CPD Y Felinheli 1 Bethesda Athletic 1

CPD Y Rhyl 1879 2 Brickfield Rangers 1
