PREVIEWS

CYMRU NORTH

Two matches on Friday night kick off the weekend in the Cymru North.

Fourth-place Mold have won four on the bounce and scored 16 goals in the process.

That sort of form should be too hot for their Friday hosts Llanidloes Town.

Despite seven losses in eight starts Llandudno continue to perform well.

The Seasiders should give fifth place Denbigh Town a good test on Friday, but an away win for the Vale of Clwyd side looks likeliest.

Airbus UK rose to second in midweek after a superb 4-0 win at in-form Prestatyn Town.

The Wingmakers should have the goal power to see off Caersws on Saturday at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Bangor 1876 will be buoyed by last weekend’s 7-1 Welsh Cup drubbing of Cefn Albion and this will stand them in good stead when they visit struggling Chirk AAA.

Ruthin Town will be keen to wipe out the memory of Wednesday’s 5-0 Welsh Cup loss to The New Saints when they travel to Buckley. This one has the makings of a draw.

Although in great form, Flint Town United can except a tricky trip to Guilsfield, but nonetheless this is a hurdle the Silkmen can successfully overcome.

Leaders Holywell Town are another team aiming to bounce back, last weekend’s surprise Welsh Cup exit at lower league Flint Mountain no doubt still fresh in their minds.

The Wellmen should have what it takes to best visitors Gresford Athletic, but the Colliers are in fine nick themselves and it will not be easy for Johnny Haseldin’s men.

Can Prestatyn Town recover well from their midweek caning at the hands of Airbus, or will their trip to Porthmadog bring more misery? Another very interesting clash in prospect.

SCORECASTS

Llanidloes Town 0 Mold Alexandra 3
Llandudno 1 Denbigh Town 3

Airbus UK 2 Caersws 0

Buckley Town 2 Ruthin Town 2
Chirk AAA 0 Bangor 1876 2
Guilsfield 1 Flint Town United 2
Holywell Town 2 Gresford Athletic 1
Porthmadog 3 Prestatyn Town 3

ARDAL NORTH EAST

Unbeaten Bow Street have a big chance of retaining their undefeated league record at home to Llandrindod Wells on Saturday.

No doubt smarting after a 7-1 Welsh Cup reverse at Bangor 1876 last weekend, Cefn Albion return to action with a Wrexham-area derby against Penycae, who are without a win in eight attempts and second bottom.

Big leanings towards an Albion victory here.

Much-improving Dolgellau Athletic should be too powerful for basement side Welshpool Town at Cae Marian, while still undefeated Llanuwchllyn can take the honours at Llanrhaeadr.

High-flying Llansantffraid can expect a tough test against Builth Wells, where they drew last weekend, but in this quick reverse fixture I back the Saints to edge the return.

Radnor Valley should overcome the challenge of visitors Llanfair United, but two sides lacking consistency, Rhos United and Llangollen Town, might end up sharing the spoils.

SCORECASTS
Bow Street 3 Llandrindod Wells 0
Cefn Albion 3 Penycae 1
Dolgellau Athletic 4 Welshpool Town 1
Llanrhaeadr 0 Llanuwchllyn 3
Llansantffraid 2 Builth Wells 1
Radnor Valley 3 Llanfair United 1
Rhos Aelwyd 1 Llangollen Town 1

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Flint Mountain are flying after last weekend’s surprise Welsh Cup win over Holywell and they look a great shout for a home victory when they welcome Brickfield Rangers to the Essity Stadium on Friday.

Undefeated Nantlle Vale visit Conwy Borough on Saturday. Vale should edge it, but Conwy are coming off the back of a good home success over Pwllheli, so cannot be ruled out.

Leaders Rhyl 1879 will be going all out to make it seven league wins in a row when they visit Llangefni Town, who can be such difficult customers on their day.

Third-place Llanrwst United can expect a battle at home to an ever-improving Llannefydd. Can see one goal deciding this one.

Pwllheli can defeat bottom side Hawarden Rangers, but it will be far from a pushover against a team straining at the leash for that first win, while Holyhead Hotspur’s 4-0 beating of Bethesda Athletic last Saturday puts them in good heart for a long journey to Saltney Town.

St Asaph City, shaping well on their return to Tier 3, are highly fancied to get past the challenge of struggling Bethesda Athletic, but Y Felinheli v Llay Welfare could be a close one, the home side having proved so hard to beat regularly this term.

SCORECASTS

Flint Mountain 3 Brickfield Rangers 1
Conwy Borough 1 Nantlle Vale 2
Llangefni Town 1 CPD Rhyl 1879 2
Llanrwst United 2 Llannefydd 1
Pwllheli 3 Hawarden Rangers 1
Saltney Town 1 Holyhead Hotspur 1
St Asaph City 4 Bethesda Athletic 2
Y Felinheli 2 Llay Welfare 2
