PREVIEWS

JD CYMRU NORTH

We kick off the weekend on Friday night with the battle for fifth place in the JD Cymru North.

Current occupiers of that position, Bangor 1876, travel to the team lying sixth, Denbigh Town.

Just a single point separates the pair, who both came up from the Tier 3 Ardal North West last season, and Denbigh will be out for revenge having lost 2-1 at 1876 back in August.

Town are coming off the back of a 7-0 away hammering of relegated Llanidloes, while Bangor’s last outing brought an impressive 2-1 win at Guilsfield.

This one has the makings of a high-scoring draw.

Saturday sees leaders Holywell Town travel away to face Guilsfield in a match kicking off unusually late for the day of the week at 7.45 pm at Latham Park, Newtown/

Unbeaten in 15, 14 of them wins, the Wellmen can expect a tricky test against the Powys hosts, but should just have the edge.

Flint Town United can leap to second, or even go top depending on the result at Guilsfield, with a victory at already doomed Llanidloes Town. Expect a comfortable success for the Silkmen.

Buckley Town versus Gresford Athletic looks set to be a close scrap, Llandudno can bounce back to form at home to Caersws, while Mold Alexandra should narrowly overcome Ruthin Town.

SCORECASTS

Denbigh Town 2 Bangor 1876 2

Buckley Town 1 Gresford Athletic 1

Guilsfield 1 Holywell Town 2
Llandudno 2 Caersws 0
Llanidloes Town 0 Flint Town United 4
Mold Alexandra 3 Ruthin Town 2

ARDAL NORTH EAST
Table-toppers Penrhyncoch should be assured of a tough test at fellow high-flyers Radnor Valley, but the Roosters can take maximum spoils in their push for the title.

Second-place Llanuwchllyn also face a difficult hurdle away to Llandrindod Wells, but a visiting victory looks the narrow favourite on present form.

Home wins appear to be a good shout as Builth Wells entertain Llanfair United and Dolgellau Athletic welcome Llanrhaeadr.

Third-place Bow Street might just have what it takes to triumph at Llangollen Town, while in a Wrexham-area derby, we go for a Cefn Albion victory at Penycae.

Rhos Aelwyd, who held leaders Penrhyncoch at home last weekend, can go one better versus Llansantffraid.

SCORECASTS

Builth Wells 3 Llanfair United 0
Dolgellau Athletic 4 Llanrhaeadr 1
Llandrindod Wells 1 Llanuwchllyn 2
Llangollen Town 1 Bow Street 3
Penycae 1 Cefn Albion 2
Radnor Valley 0 Penrhyncoch 2
Rhos Aelwyd 3 Llansantffraid 1

ARDAL NORTH WEST

Battle of the day should undoubtedly at The Ring where third-place Llay Welfare entertain top team CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

If they are to lift the title, the Lilywhites must keep winning and hope the likes of Flint Mountain and Llay slip up in their games in hand on their respective run-ins.

Rhyl rediscovered winning ways against Felinheli last time out, but could struggle against a Llay outfit unbeaten in nine having taken 23 points from a possible last 27.

Big players will need to put in big performances on the day.

Second-place Flint Mountain will by no means find it easy at a solid Brickfield side having a good season. Could be a draw at Clywedog Park.

Bethesda Athletic can pick up three points towards their safety quest at home to Pwllheli, while in-form Holyhead Hotspur should just nick it at Hawarden Rangers.

Following two good league wins back-to-back, Llannefydd can take a close verdict at home to Llangefni Town, Nantlle Vale should have too much for visitors Saltney Town and St Asaph City appear a good bet for maximum reward when they entertain Llanrwst United.

Chances are running out for bottom side CPD Y Felinheli, who welcome Conwy Borough to Cae Seilo. After a tremendous win at Flint Mountain, Boro stumbled at Llannefydd lin their last fixture, but should take at least a point on Saturday.

SCORECASTS

Bethesda Athletic 3 CPD Pwllheli 1
Brickfield Rangers 1 Flint Mountain 1
Hawarden Rangers 1 Holyhead Hotspur 2
CPD Llannefydd 2 Llangefni Town 1
Llay Welfare 1 CPD Rhyl 1879 1
Nantlle Vale 3 Saltney Town 0
St Asaph City 4 Llanrwst United 1
Y Felinheli 1 Conwy Borough 1
