JD CYMRU NORTH PREVIEW

The post-Christmas Day football festivities kick off on Boxing Day with Llanidloes Town welcoming Guilsfield to Victoria Park.

These Powys rivals drew 2-2 at Clos Mytton back in October and the return could be just as close with only a handful of points separating the pair in the table.

Most of the Cymru North action takes place on Tuesday, December 27, with leaders Colwyn Bay favourites to extend their unbeaten run to 15 games when they visit Ruthin Town.

Bay beat Ruthin 4-1 at the Four Crosses Construction Arena earlier in the campaign and triumphed 2-1 away to the Vale of Clwyd side in the League Cup.

However, Town are a team always capable of upsetting the odds and cannot be discounted.
Second-place Holywell Town will target a 13th win on the bounce when they travel to Mold Alexandra, who they defeated 2-0 at the Achieve More Training Stadium two months ago.

Llandudno will fancy their chances of completing a double over Chirk AAA when they journey to Holyhead Road. Tudno saw off the Colliers 3-1 at home eight weeks back.

Prestatyn Town are a good bet for a home win against bottom-side Holyhead Hotspur, who have lost six league games in succession.

Cefn Druids whipped Penrhyncoch 4-1 at The Rock at the end of October and are more than capable of stretching their undefeated run in the league to six matches on their trip to Cae Baker.

On the back of four straight league losses, Porthmadog could do with a change of fortune at home to Conwy Borough. Port’s last win was a 2-0 success at Conwy.

Buckley Town edged a 3-2 verdict over Gresford Athletic two months ago. Gresford can get revenge in the return at Clappers Lane on Tuesday.

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH EAST PREVIEW

Boxing Day sees Caersws aim to move to within a point of leaders Cefn Albion with four games in hand when the Bluebirds host Llandrindod Wells.

Expect a comfortable win for ‘Sws.

Builth Wells should be too strong for next-to-bottom Rhayader Town, while seventh-place Llanuwchllyn can edge a close one at Dolgellau Athletic, who lie fifth.

On Tuesday, the Wrexham area derby can produce an away win for Rhos Aelwyd at Penycae, while Welshpool Town should sweep aside basement boys Llanrhaeadr.

SCORECASTS

Builth Wells30Rhayader Town
Caersws 41Llandrindod Wells
Dolgellau AA 23Llanuwchllyn
Penycae 12Rhos Aelwyd

LOCK STOCK ARDAL NORTH WEST PREVIEW

Brickfield Rangers should claim a narrow decision over bottom side Rhostyllen on Boxing Day, while earlier the same afternoon, Nantlle Vale can complete a league double over a Felinheli outfit they beat 2-1 at Cae Seilo back in August.

Felin have won three in a row, however, so cannot be overlooked.

Despite having to cope with a number of suspensions and injuries, CPD Y Rhyl 1879 should be capable of taking the three home points they need against strugglers Llandudno Albion to regain top spot.

Brickfield Rangers 32Rhostyllen
Nantlle Vale 10CPD Y Felinheli
CPD Y Rhyl 1879 31Llandudno Albion
